September 12, 2016 - Elder Seelos is the best! This week was full of hard work and miracles! Favorite quotes

 Comp: Elder Seelos (Kaysville, Utah)

Zone Leader
Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward

I am doing super well though! Life is great! Elder Seelos is the best! I dont think I could really ask for anything more! This week was full of hard work and miracles so cant get much better than that!

1- It is going really well! Our ward has the most recent converts in the stake. If not the most then the second most. It is a very good area to be in, one of the best.

2-Well specifically for this month we are focusing on keeping the Sabbath day holy and getting investigators to church and helping them understand the why being the Sabbath. As well as teaching repentance and baptizing converts. The gospel of Jesus Christ really defines our lives and we use it everyday as missionaries and members of the church. Our goal recently has been to help other people identify it in their lives and help them live it more fully.

3- I went on an exchange with elder Dalmasi! It was super fun! He has wanted to train for a long time so.. I became his new missionaries for the day. I took on the name Elder Miller ( haha.. Just felt right.. ) and I let him train me the entire day. I acted like I didnt know anything and I stopped speaking with a nice french accent and went super anglaphone and it was so fun! He may be having second thoughts about training now.. haha. Hopefully not but he did a great job! I remember trying to contact a women who only spoke chinese.. That was funny. We didnt speak any of the same languages but I had a chinese planner with me and I tried to communicate through it and well.. I tried haha.. It was pretty amusing, but in the end she has no idea what I was talking about.

4- That is super good! I would keep that up. I would just say that no matter what if you eat too much of anything it is not good for you. Everything has to be done in moderation. There is a certain pattern that he can follow while he is training and tapering etc. but.. honestly I cant remember.. I know that george does though maybe he could help you out? I wish I could help but I dont remember all of my swimming food facts etc. I remember some days I would just carb out and eat like 6 potatoes and an entire boc of pasta, but then there are days when you just eat nothing but protein.. He will have to mix and match! but roughly he could do somthing like 2500 to 3000 calories diet. 30%  protein, 20% fat, 50% Carbs and get him vitamins so that he gets all his vitamins each day.

5 - that is a great question I love the people here because they come from all over the world. It is a true mixing pot. Usually missionaries go out and they teach the world but here the world comes to us and we teach them. Everyone of every shape, size, color, and race. That is what I love about the people here. There of course are canadian stereotypes but on the same block you could have someone from every single continent. I love this place because there is no other place in the entire world like it. There is no where in the world where you can go to a place and just by crossing a river have the language and culture change almost instantly. Signs everything. It is so cool. Ottawa has changed my life and it honestly one of the coolest places I have every been to in my entire life. Definitely here and parliament and montreal there are a lot of things!

6- Fav quote.. Here are some really amazing mark twain quotes that I like 1- Do something everyday that you dont want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain. 2- Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of a joy you must have somebody to divide it with. 3- Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the lowliness, sail away from the safe harbor, and catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Scriptures - I think something I have come to appreciate is ether 12:4 and the conversion story of alma in chapter 36. 1 because those who believe in God can hope for a better world. When I hear that I think of how loving God is and I think of our divine potential of what we can become. When I think of the conversion of alma and that nothing could have been as harsh as his pain but at the same time that nothing could have been as exquisite as his peace and joy it reminds me of The atonement of Jesus Christ everything that is unfair baout this life can be made up for because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I have come to know him on my mission. Nothing can take that away from me or the peace that I feel as I choose to follow him as one of his disciples.  Tender Mercy - I think some tender mercy's came this week in just having things work out where we least expected them. Having a lesson cancel, but because of that having enough time to pass by someone that we wouldn't have been able to see had we not left at that moment. This happen with an investigator we had been trying to see for 3 weeks. We couldnt get a hold of him. He has lost our phone and so that was definitely the miracles of the week.

Have a great week!

Sept 5, 2016- New Comp! Elder Seelos

New Comp:
Elder Seelos (Kaysville, Utah)

Zone Leader
Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward

1- elder bird and I! He is from kaysville and one of my favorite Elders!

2- visiting a district! Some of my favorite Missionaries!

3- Look how big that zucchini is..

bonjour ma mere je suis ici est-ce que tu es la?

What did you end up doing for labor day? Was it pretty fun! I would like play by play details on camdeyns swimming career if that is alright.. I really want to know how he is doing. and well swimming is life so I will be able to tell how good he is but by the looks of it he is already a champ. So much potential.. I think you have nothing to worry about haha. I have seriously the best companion in the world and I am always happy. Nothing can throw me down.
My week was SO awesome! I had a blast I will tell you about it in the questions. I did get my heavy package! I was so thankful! That package has everything that I need for the rest of my mission.. Isnt that weird??

1- IT WAS AMAZING! It was a really nice drive I got to drive some missionaries there that I was very close to so it was nice to say goodbye etc. At the actual mission office etc. Probably half the mission was there. No joke. There was probably 80-90 people in total so it was insane! I saw every single person that I love and adore! They were all there I got to see elder Vanaquer and Elder Rosenlof and his new trainee! I now have a brother in the mission field! I also got to see elder Udave and Elder Critchlow and spend the most legendary day ever with elder Seelos! ( pronounced seeless  just FYI ) It was so fun! Because we had to stay the night and well it wasnt our area we basically had 12 hours in montreal with nothing to do but eat, plan, and do misisonary work so it was an amazing day! I went to the Banquise which is the best poutine place in montreal and I got the biggest sized poutine they had on the menu and it was a monster.. It was le grand t-rex poutine. It was massive.. but due to pride and my love for food I finished the whole thing in one sitting. Legendary. But honestly probably 2 of the best days in my entire mission.

2- I dont even know which 3 to say.. There are way to many.

A- He is the chillest, kindest, most loving, relaxed, awesome, super funny, Elder that I have ever met. It has only been a couple days but it feels like we have been together forever. honestly it is like hanging out with Devin all the time. Or Camdeyn or Aiden. It is just a blast all the time!

B- He is an absolutely perfectly, flawless person/teacher. He has so much charity and gospel knowledge. He is the bomb in lessons and we have a lot of fun testifying together and teaching together and just letting the time pass by.

C- He is wicked intelligent and incredibly hard working! He can do it all! We wake up everyday and just hit the ground running we work smart and just get so much done all the time! We have a blast!

3- I am still in the same area and ward. 4th transfer as a zone leader! Hopefully not the last.. I guess we will see! Crazy thought.. I only have 7 transfers after this one.

4- I think I am good on everything. As far as worldly things go I have it all! You have been amazing in making sure that I have everything I need je t'aime beacoup! I think what meant most to me is just the fact that you cared and also that you were able to identify any problems even without me having to tell you. Which means you either know me really well or you were prompted by the spirit and I am guessing because I know you pretty well that It was both. So I knew that you cared and also you identified a need that I had and you catered to it and made my day! What more could I ask for? A loving mother far exceeds any other gift in the world.

5- I think MLC for sure. These past couple days with elder Seelos have been really amazing. Because Elder Buck, Elder Seelos and I all came into the mission field at the same time from the MTC it feels like we are brothers and we have just been having so much fun together! I cant even tell you how amazing it has been! I think that has been the best part of this week just memories that we have made and the time we have passed together! What more can you ask for?

6- I think one of the most important things that I have learned on my mission about my self and in general is the importance of what I do with my free agency. It is the only gift from God that he cannot take away from. Which gives it a lot of power. It is a very special tool. But what I learned about myself is that I love to learn, progress, work hard and  just keep going. So in relation to knowing more about what I want to do in this life I have learned that If there is ever anything that I want out of life or if there is something that I want to learn. That I have that potential. I just have to take the time and energy and excise my agency. Every person in this world has so much divine potential and I dont want to miss out on what I could become or what I could learn because I am doing things that hinder me from having that potential to become better. Now that may have sounded really confusing but I want you to know that I am typing fast and that it made more sense in my head haha.. Hopefully that is what you were looking for.

7- It was just amazingly uplifting and edifying and I am really grateful for all of the leaders in the mission and it was an awesome experience to just learn and grow :D

8- Life is just great! I couldnt be happier and I am excited to see what the future holds! I know that being with Elder Seelos is going to change me for the better and I am excited to see what will happen this transfer. I am hoping that we get a good amount of time together.. also I can now successfully solve a a rubix cube without any help.  the things you learn on your mission haha..

Well I think that is everything.. not too much else that I can think of! Love Y'all!

August 29, 2016 - Pic Transfers!! Elder Dalmasi, MLC, drive to Montreal, saying good-bye, soccer, ping pong,

Comp: Elder Dalmasi
Zone Leader

Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward

1- so ended up not going on the mini mission thing it didnt work out so yeah.. sadly but! I got to be with elder DALMASI! Which is a super cool story because he emailed me when he was in the MTC and I was in the field and he read my blog etc. So I finally got to be with him so it was soo fun! I have never laughed so hard in my life. He is probably one of the funniest elders in the mission.

I will be getting my official new comp this wednesday and his name is... ELDER SEELOS! from kaysville utah which is really funny because that is where elder Nilson was from but! I also came into the field with Elder Seelos so he was in the MTC with me but he was learning french and I was learning spanish but I am so excited to be him! He is a really hard working missionary so I am happy! This is the best part though I get to drive to Montreal and pick him up because we wil be going to MLC thursday so I will get to see the 27 new missionaries that are coming in this week! SO EXCITED I am so happy! It will be so cool! I will have to tell you about it next week!

2.. Elder Dalmasi haha..

3- Being with elder Seelos this transfer is going to be awesome! Especially with 27 new missionaries!

4- Just finding and teaching also participating in the confirmation of Devon was pretty amazing!

5- I dont think right now.. got your letter and I loved it but I dont have time to fully tell you how much I appreciate it right now..

6- Well It was sad saying goodbye to elder Chou but I got to drive him to Montreal which was nice and get a really long goodbye I basically just hung out with dying missionaries for like 4 hours while I waited for the missionaries to finish a special meeting they had so that was super fun we played some soccer and ping pong. It was an extremely memorable day I had to say goodbye to some of my favorite missionaries of all time though so that was sad but I know they are off to bigger and better things!  sorry for all the typos and stuff I am emailing like a mad man ..

7- I love you and sorry this one is so short.. you will probably be the only one this week that gets a long email..

LOVE YOU! Have a great week!

August 15, 2016 - pics!- ZC, "It is through the spirit that we will testify of the truthfulness of the gospel and it is how God speaks through us to his children. It has been amazing studying the importance of it. Also how it relates to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Basically all throughout our life we will have the need to repent and as we exercise faith in Jesus christ and repent of our sins accessing the atonement of Jesus Christ and listen to the promptings of of the spirit telling us what we should do to change and become better we really become converted as we continue this process throughout our lives."

1- This is Elder Bird he is the man and he was the one that went to school wth elder nilson!
2- This is what happens when you have a fast sunday as a missionary. 4 chili cheese dogs..
3- old district photo

Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward

Comp: Elder Chou (Texas)

1- That is so crazy. I think nature is running out of things that it can do to us. What even happened where was he and how did he react? I really cant believe it though it is quite the story!

2- Everything is beautiful here ( though it is a little hot )  I am loving life and at this point my mission has become part of my life as of now everything I do is just normal i have adjusted and it is no longer waking up and being a missionary but it is waking up and being me and sharing the gospel with everyone and having fun and smiling and laughing and passing the time in good company.

3- It was a super good week! Quite stressful at some points because it was zone conference this week which took a lot of energy out of me. Basically in preparation every living breathing moment was spent just setting up appointments and interviews and planning for our training. Making sure there was food and everyone knew about it! It was quite the week with that going on! I also gave 2 baptismal interviews this week for 2 young  boys 14, and  9 in a family of 5 that was baptized this week. They were from haiti and president came all the way from montreal to see it because of their extraordinary story! They had been investigating the church for like 5 years and they are just now being baptized! It was amazing to see it all really! Other than that. this was elder chous last sunday because there is a broadcast this next sunday so this is his last full week and it is going to be very busy..

4- I have been studying a lot out of chapter 4. This is honestly probably the most important chapter in PMG when it comes down to it. It is through the spirit that we really accomplish everything in missionary work. It is through the spirit that we will testify of the truthfulness of the gospel and it is how God speaks through us to his children. It has been amazing studying the importance of it. Also how it relates to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Basically all throughout our life we will have the need to repent and as we exercise faith in Jesus christ and repent of our sins accessing the atonement of Jesus Christ and listen to the promptings of of the spirit telling us what we should do to change and become better we really become converted as we continue this process throughout our lives.

5- Favorite ward member.. honestly two of my favorite families in the ward are the grahams whom you are friends with on facebook as well as the von scheels! They are a young couple in our ward both about 22 but he was recently called to be the Elders quorum president he served his mission in Greece! They are so cool and they invite us over all the time and they are just on our level and they have  become friends really! I am super tight with them! Eating? I have no idea basically Elder chou looks at what we have makes the most amazing meal you can ever think of with all of it and then we live happily ever after it is pretty great! I would say he is probably the best chef in the entire mission..

6- Honestly after everything that happens through the week it means a lot to me to just sit down and play a board game with the other elders in our apartment and hang out and just talk and laugh. Not worry about anything and just take the time to get to know one another and grow closer! When we dont do that we go out and eat together or go down town and shop and site see! All super fun things!

7- Well there is an investigator in our area who has been investigating the church for about 9 months now and she passed her basptismal interview officially and she should be getting baptized this weeked or the next so that has definitely been an amazing tender mercy from the lord we have been trying really hard to focus our attention on her and just help her progress and accept the gospel into her life and I think all our efforts will finally pay off in the next couple of weeks!

Well I think that is all for this week! love you!

1. What do you think of Aiden's snake bite?!?!
    2.Tell me anything!
3. How was your week? What were the highlights?
4. What are you studying in Preach my Gospel lately?
5. What have you been eating... who house have you eaten at... favorite ward members?
6. What are some of your fav things to do on P-Day?
7. Tender mercies?  Moments you don't want to forget?

1- Missionary work can be pretty tiring..

2- MY DESK!

3- I dont remember what the first picture was..

4- Amazing sunset when proselyting with elder chou!

1. How are you??
2. How do you feel about almost hitting your year mark?
3. What made you laugh/ cry this week
4. What are your successes?
5. What were your favorite things that happened?
6. Tell me anything!

1- I am doing very well. There is a lot of stuff going on over here with zone conferences coming up so our schedules have been a bit crazy! But I have gotten very good at managing my time and prioritizing so all is well! Things are going super well over here and I am very happy I just wish it wasnt so hot.. there were like two days this week it was 35 degrees which is really hot for where we are.. too hot..

2- It doesnt feel real I can still remember the 1st day perfectly and I feel that not much time has passed since the 1st day but an entire year has almost gone by which frightens me I dont want to see the next year go by with no changes so in the end it just motivates me to work a lot harder for what I want. I still cant believe it though..

3- laugh? hmm.. that is a good one.. These was a blur. I dont even remember half the things that happened. It has been very long so I am trying to just relax to do and prepare for what is to come with zone conference. I think the hardest I laughed this week was probably during exchanges I had two exchanges this week and they were both amazing. One of them was with an elder that actually went to school with elder nilson so we got to talk a lot and it was nice to learn and see how a new missionary works. That night we just played games together and had a blast what can I say more? Cry-- I dont think there was anything that made my cry this week that I can think of... Sorry!

4- I think this weeks successes came in the little moments where we were just exactly obeident and we got a lot of work done despite the fact that we were so busy with a lot of administrative zone leader stuff. We have been doing lots and lots of planning for zone conference so things have been quite busy but we were able to find some new investigators this week and I was finally given the opportunity to go down town and work in the big city! That was really cool! It was cool talking to people on the bus and things like that. We found a lot of potentials and it was a really good day!

5- Favorite thing? well we got onto a bus and I went and sat down next to two women speaking creole and starting talking to them. I dont speak very much creole but it was enough to start a conversation then switch it over to french, but the cool thing was what was happening with Elder Dixon in the back ( we were on exchanges ) He started talking to this guy and he just seemed so Golden from the start. We got off at the same stop and we talked to him for almost have an hour on the street. We told him about the book of mormon and the restoration of the bible and basically taught the entire first lesson and he believed it all and loved it! I think my favorite part was when he talked about "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold" He said it just made sense and that he had always wondered about that. We answered questions to his soul and he accepted us and the book of mormon and it was just an amazing encounter! It was exactly how I would expect every single person to react if they heard the truthfulness of the gospel and it is what happened that day. It was an amazing thing to see.

6- hmm well I really feel like there wasnt too much that happened this week. like really this was a week of lots of driving and running around and planning things. the 2 most exciting things were probably exchanges which bore a lot of success in regards to finding people and teaching people! This week was a perfect example of just a by the book week. Nothing extraordinary just a lot of work that got done and feelins successful after getting through all of it.

I dont think I will need that hair gel I asked you for so dont worry about that. Other than that I may send a package home soon with some goodies and souvenirs in it. It will probably be a lot cheaper than the other 2 boxes I sent I found a way to send flat rate boxes through using a member so I will try and get that to you. Other than that life is just normal. Busy as ever well more busy that normal haha. So trying to just relax and stay frosty! I found the momon version of settlers of Catan which is called something like Zarahemla. So I am sure we will be playing that soon! I will tell you how it goes! Elder Chou and I are having a blast and I am still using a lot of french! Anyways love you so much have a great week!

August 2, 2016 - MLC, what I'm thankful for, Zone Leader, " I knew then and I know now even more that we will never be asked or given anything that we are not able to handle or endure and that has made everything in my mission all worth it and so much easier to bear."

Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward

Comp: Elder Chou (Texas)
Zone Leader

1- in litterally every way shape and form. It has demanded a lot of me physically, mentally, and a lot spiritually. I supposed doing 4 moves in a week, planning a zone conference, and being in a personal meeting with the president of a mission his councilors, the stake president and his councilors can change you in all those ways. Of course there is more I have done.. much more but those are just a couple of examples.! I dont even know what else to say. I have just gained so much perspective on the gospel and what it means to be a missionary as well as the fruits of working hard. It has been so much fun and I have changed who I am!

2- I have a good perspective on what the future will be like. I have specific goals and things that I want to accomplish and knowing what is in it at the end of all this is what helps me to keep going. It inspires me and drives me to work hard and keep going despite any challenges that I might face. Knowing that it will always get better and knowing that I will be blessed for my obedience and diligence just makes it all worth it. You cannot forget the element of heart though. You can be obedient and diligent but not have any heart in what you are doing. You have to align heavenly Fathers will with your own and make the gospel part of who you are and what you do. You have to attach what you are and what you want to become with the desires of your heart and it makes it all worth it and infinitely easier to just keep going.

3- I love the emphasis on being not only a preach my gospel missionary but a handbook 2 ward council member. Our mission does put a lot of time and energy into the now and planting seeds, but really it makes leaders out of young men and women for the future. It gives and teaches us the proper fundamentals so that we aren't just missionaries for 2 years but for the rest of our lives. It has given me an image of who I want to be when I get home in order to help the work of salvation continue wherever I am. I have learned so many things but I think that is one of the biggest things that I love about our culture. As well as exact obedience and things like that but really how to apply everything that we learn for 2 years to the rest of our lives.

4- That is a hard question. I think I was asked a similar question when I had finally received the valedictorian award. I was asked what was the hardest part. I could name specific times in the time frame where it was extremely difficult, but when I look back it seems so minuscule. I knew then and I know now even more that we will never be asked or given anything that we are not able to handle or endure and that has made everything in my mission all worth it and so much easier to bear. I think if I could name a time though it would definitely be at the beginning of my mission where I did not fully comprehend that principle or fully understand my purpose or goals here. Since the day that I have discovered really why I am here and what heavenly father has asked me to do. It has been cloud 9. Everyday is just another adventure and miracle in the scheme of eternal progression and happiness.

5- Yeah that definitely made me smile! Well.. I got to see elder udave again which was absolutely amazing! That is always a treat. I think I really laughed and smiled the most though in the little moments with elder chou. He has an amazing sense of humor and we are always laughing. Litterally all the time we are just laughing and messing with eachother. I wish you could just tape our lives together. I am sure you could make millions off of making a movie out of it. Kinda like the Truman show.

6- hmm. well my journal will be done at the 28th I think of this month so yeah if you could send me another journal. I was also wondering if you could send me my planner from laval I missed some days and I want to fill them in but I need my planner to remember what we did. It should say on the inside. I only have one planner and it has like red clouds I think on the outside or something. That would be super useful. Umm. Maybe one pair of slacks would be nice as well. are there any other colors besides gray and black? If not.. well it is fine send me the most sturdy pair. But just one. Other than that. If you know my hair gel you could send me a thing of that. That would be nice. Other than that I think I am golden on everything. I will try soon to send you home a mass thing of pictures on a USB I have made like 3 copies of my photos so I wouldnt lose them. You can then take the photos and send back the USB. I think that everything that I have brought though will make it to the rest of my mission. My shoes. shirts, etc.

7- I am so grateful for the gospel, for Jesus Christ and all that he has done for me, for my family and friends, christlike attributes, rain, storms, snow, a bed to sleep in at night, my companion and the other 2 elder in my apartment, my homies all around the world, so many things. My mission has given me gratitude in all aspects of like, but it has made me appreciate that much more a gospel centered family and true friends. Those 2 things mean more to me than almost anything in the world.

8- Hm.. this week went by really fast but also really slow I cant even believe it all happened it was nuts! We had MLC which was fun and then exchanges with the assistants. We drove 3100 klicks this month that is 100 a day.. so much driving! Ah but it was good! I love being with elder chou it has been so much fun  I can be myself when I am around him and I really appreciate that. Other than that Devon got her baptismal interview I walked around with cigarettes for like 3 hours because I took them ( well he gave them to me cause I invited him to get rid of them ) from him. Other than that.. I dont even know what else. Just crazy zone leader stuff. We have a zone conference coming up and this is a 5 week transfer so things are pretty crazy! But all is well and I am happy!

Love you have a great week!

So the first one is with the primary! We got to teach in their and they loved us! Of course we love them too!

Last trip to Montreal on the bus!

This is the squad or.. Exchanges with the assistants haha.

This is on Mount Royal in Montreal super beautiful sight!

This is.. Just something cool in montreal I forgot the name..

Some of my favorite Elders!

Anyways i think that is good for this week love you!

Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward
Comp: Elder Chou (Texas)
Zone Leader

1- hmm. Well I have a new companion.. There is a new elder in our apartment and well life is as good as ever I dont know if there is too much else new to report on! Things are as good as ever just really busy all the time like usual! We will be driving to Montreal again tomorrow we will have driven like 4000 klicks by the time this month is over haha. Lots of practice!

2- So his name is elder Chou he is from texas and he is a total boss! his mom is from Taiwan and his dad from china and he speaks Mandarin. He is a super good cook and an extremely hard worker! He is just the best to be around we really compliment each other and we have just been working so hard these last couple days it has been awesome! He is about my height, really good sense of humor! Has an extremely strong testimony of the gospel and we just have loads of fun together! What can I say more? :D

3- haha I dont even know it is all just super vague at this point. Transfers were really crazy because we had like 14 missionaries leaving and 12 coming in and I had to help coordinate and drive and make sure that everyone got home safe and a lot of it was by myself haha. So that was pretty crazy I was pretty tired after that day we were so busy that we had to cancel our dinner appointment because we didnt have time to go eat with them. Sorry this week wasnt too exciting just lots of packing and recieving new missionaries and cleaning. Very very busy.

4- laugh - having 2 new missionaries in our apartment makes for quite the adventures we have been able to grow and learn together these past couple days and it has been a blast so we have obvious ly passing the time joyously dont know if I could pinpoint a single instance where I laughed though haha. Cried? Seeing elder nilson leave was pretty sad. I didnt quite cry but if we would have had more time to say goodbye I might have. we got up at 4:30 that morning so my eyes were kind of tired as well.

5- haha. Well do you want french or quebecois? lol non c'est bien.. alors je t'aime beacoup ma mere tu es le meilleur et j'esperes que vous avez passé une tres belle semaine! apart de ca.. je ne sais pas. c'est bien plus facile a parler quand il y a quelque chose que je peux dire en reponse. tu peux fair quelque chose avec Google translate et je peux repondre mais c'est a toi a decider haha.

6- Well Brian is back on date and Devon is going to get her interview this week so those are two things that are super amazing! We should have 2 baptisms coming up and so I am really excited for that we have been working really hard with them so I am excited to see what will happen when they are baptized and how they will further change!

7- Well almost everyday we sing in french.. I sang in church with a couple missionaries like 3 weeks ago but other than that just little things here and there in the apartment. Well I mean 179 in the french hymn book is always a classic cant go wrong with that one but I think I just like singing the hymns more in french now haha. So basically all my favorite hymns in english are now my favorite in french!

8- Life is good It has just been really hot so I am sweating constantly but all is well! Had a crazy busy week with elder nilson leaving and elder chou coming in there is no senior companion with zone leaders but when a new missionary comes in you do have to lead the area for a while because the other missionary doesnt know what is going on so I have been very busy with that setting up lessons etc. Just the usual stuff. This week was really just a by the book week. Everything went very smoothly all the fundamentals were performed but it definitely wasnt too exciting sadly. Sorry!

I think that is it for this week!
Love,
Elder Masse

July 18, 2016 - Transfers! Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward Comp: Elder Jared Nilson (Kaysville, UT) Zone Leader

Area: Ottawa Ontario Stake, Champlain Ward
Comp: Elder Jared Nilson (Kaysville, UT)

Zone Leader

1. What do you do for the first hour you wake up?
2. Do you generally come home for lunch or ??
3. How many miles do you get a month as a ZL?
4. What happened this week that you don't want to forget!!!
5. What are you looking forward to?
6. What have you been thinking about lately?
7. Spiritual experience, fav quote?
8. What made you laugh and cry?

1- Well I get up and pray and depending on the day for that first hour we will be playing tennis if we wake up at 6. Or if we wake up at 6:29 we get up and I walk into the other room and just lift weights and try to lose some of the fat that I have gained from eating poutine haha. Not too much variety. Other than that because we live in a 4 man we take 15 minute showers. Well more like 8 minute showers but a total of 15 minutes in the bathroom in the morning. Eat oatmeal with peanut butter organize, get dressed and prepare for the day!

2- Yeah usually we are already home. Because we have 3 hours of study we end our studies at 11 and then just eat lunch from 11-12 or sometimes members invite us over for lunch.

3- haha. Well we have 2500 klicks which is obviously measured in kilometers but as zone leaders we decide who gets how many klick so we could change it but, 2500 is plenty. We make a drive to montreal every month which takes between 500-600 klicks. We use about 100 klicks a day roughly. So I have definitely become a better driver. We are also driving a truck so I have adjusted to that at first it was weird.

4- hmm.. That is a great question haha. Too many thing. I think one thing that was really cool was our exchange with the assistants in Montreal and just the sites that we got to see while we were proselyting and just an awesome exchange with one of my favorite missionaries! I got to see Elder udave again and everything was just perfect I will try and get you some of the pictures that we took!

5- Anything really! We just got tranfer calls. Well I made them haha. So I am excited for this upcoming transfer! I am still a zone leader and I will be getting a new companion! He was recently a district leader so I know him pretty well and I am excited to work with him! It is funny because he is a mandarin-french missionary and I am a spanish-french missionary and we are serving in an english area.. what is that haha! He is from the US from texas but yeah he speaks mandarin this is also his last tranfer in the field so I will be killing him! Which is kinda crazy because well.. Second missionary in a row I am killing! Trying not to be trunky is a struggle haha. not really but if i didnt have so much self-motivation etc. I am sure that I would be trunky. But also Elder Buck! Another one of my favorite missionaries who lives in our apartment is training and so I am so excited for that as well! It is going to be super fun to be partially training haha.

6- mmm Not much honestly just excited for the future and what is to come. I think something in particular is the fact the we are sent here to succeed. Heavenly Father loves us and he has called us because we are qualified for this work. He needs our talents and abilities and all that we got to bring salvation to his children. But the one thing in particular about all this is that he has sent us to succeed, but we will only succeed if we follow his will. He has sent us here to find and to baptize and to plant seeds and this is all possible if we just align our will with his.

7- mm. Spiritual experiences this week.. What didnt happen haha? I dont even know this week was really long but really short at the same time haha. Super hard to explain! things that happened.. just everyday has been jam packed with things this entire week was completely planned before we even started it! I think something really cool was that I was sharing a spiritual message and at the end I testified etc. and at the end the member just looked me in the Eyes and thanked me. A true thank you and he said that I reminded him of his son and that I had a talent to share stories and just talk etc. It was a really cool experience! Journal worthy!

8- Laugh.. Probably my awesome exchange with Elder Critchlow! It was a blast and we got to jsut run around in montreal and have a blast! What more could I ask for?

Cry.. Well Helping elder Nilson pack is pretty sad.. I havent cried but I may when he leaves I will have to tell you how it goes next week!

anyways I think that is all for this week love you!
